Estimados amigos,

Mi editorial de hoy viene de París, Francia. Me enorgullece anunciarles desde esta hermosa ciudad, que empezaremos la construcción de la marina en Agosto 08. Los trabajos están progresando como lo habíamos estimado y esperamos hacer entrega de los primeros amarres (slips) a finales de año. Esto es posible debido a que ya tenemos todos los materiales disponibles en la isla. Para aquellos que aún no han adquirido su propiedad en Viveros, no olviden nuestro programa “Friends & Family”, que le permite tener un título de propiedad con seguro, tres años de uso del amarre sin costo y muchas otras ventajas tales como membresía gratis del club de golf. While nothing but bad news seems to be pouring out of Western countries, Panama continues not only as a land of year round sunshine, but as a non-stop booming economy where home prices continue to climb, benefiting overseas investors, and where economic activity still shows remarkable growth.

In May,  the economic activity index for the country registered an 8.36% increase, with construction and real estate in the highest performing group, along with restaurants and hotels. This in a month when Standard and Poor reported the biggest drop ever in home prices in the U.S.

4,000 new condominiums are offered with the prices continuing to rise, particularly in the area of the new spectacular coastal strip being built along the edge of Panama Bay. The “Cinta Costera” will provide parkland, recreational and entertainment facilities, and the cost of land in the area has almost trebled in the last two years. The project is due for completion in May of 2009, and is currently one month ahead of schedule.

More major luxury hotels are being built to meet the demands of tourists and business travelers seeking to invest in Central America’s hottest market. The Marriott hotel group recently announced a multi-million dollar expansion program in the city. Panama City is also the home to a number of world-class casinos, with more being added as new hotels open.

And, in spite of the threats of recession in many economies, the Panama Canal continues to register an increased flow of traffic, which bodes well for the current widening project which will enable the largest container ships in the world to pass through, and which will be paid for from revenues from the existing waterway.

The world’s second largest Free Zone in Colon, a short drive from Panama City, has maintained its influence in the growth of the commercial activity and is well worth a visit when you come to Panama to take your tour of Isla Viveros. Pareciera que sólo malas noticias vienen de los países occidentales, pero a pesar de eso Panamá continúa siendo un lugar donde no solo brilla el sol durante todo el año, sino también tiene una pujante economía, con propiedades que ganan valor cada día beneficiando a los inversionistas extranjeros, la actividad económica y continua mostrando un crecimiento increíble.

En Mayo 08, el índice de actividad económica del país mostró un incremento de 8.36% con los sectores de construcción y bienes raíces mostrando el mayor crecimiento; junto con el de restaurantes y hoteles. Esto sucede en un mes cuando el Standard & Poors reportó la mayor baja en el precio de propiedades en los Estados Unidos.

El proyecto será finalizado en mayo del 2009 y actualmente tiene un mes de adelanto con respecto a su cronograma.

Más lujosos hoteles se están construyendo para atender la demanda de turistas y viajeros de negocios que buscan invertir en el mercado más candente de Centroamérica. El grupo hotelero Marriott recientemente anunció un programa de expansión para su cadena en la ciudad, por ejemplo.

La ciudad de Panamá es sede de numerosos casinos de primera clase y más son añadidos a medida que nuevos hoteles abren. Y, a pesar de las amenazas de recesión que asecha a muchas economías, el Canal de Panamá continúa reportando un incremento en tráfico, que bien amerita el proyecto de ensanchamiento para que los barcos más grandes del mundo puedan utilizar la vía interoceánica y este será pagado con las ganancias que genera el canal actualmente.

La Zona Libre de Colón, es la segunda más grande del mundo y está cerca de la ciudad de Panamá, ella ha mantenido su influencia en el crecimiento de la actividad comercial y vale la pena visitarla cuando venga a Panamá como parte de su gira a Isla Viveros.

What attracted you to Isla Viveros?

Have you had previous contact with Panama?
Yes, my wife is Panamanian and I've visited Panama on many occasions. We where looking for a beach vacation property in Panama for a while, until we found Viveros.

Are you retired, planning to retire or still engaged in business?
I'm still engaged in business in The USA.

Where do you live? Have you lived/worked in other countries?
I'm currently in living in Norman, OK .I have not worked or lived in any other countries so far.

What business are you in?
Wholesale Building Materials for major suppliers in the US.

How do you propose to use your new home? For short/long visit, or permanent visit?
For short and long visits, we have other vacation homes where we spend time.

What is your family structure?
It consists of 3 children, wife and two dogs

Do you have a visual rendition of how your finished home will look like, and what special future will be included?
Currently we are having the new plans from the Viveros architect worked on. We are planning to have a tow story house, with an infinity pool, gazebo and open terraces. Our lot overlooks the west side and we are designing the house to have beautiful sunsets by the beach.

Are you a yachtsman, pilot, golfer? If a yachtsman, will you be bringing your craft to Isla Viveros?
I'm a pilot and golfer. I’m planning to have my plane on the island and golf in Viveros on one of the best golf courses in Panama.

When are you targeting completion of your home?
If everything works right within 18 months.

When will you re-visit?
Within a few months, I will be going with my wife to Panama to enjoy the pearls, Panama City and the interior of this beautiful country.

Para cortas y de largas visitas, mi familia y Yo, tenemos otras casas de vacaciones en donde pasamos tiempo.

Tengo 3 niños, esposa y dos perros.

¿Usted tiene una interpretación visual de su residencia acabada?, que incluirá en el futuro?
En estos momentos estamos trabajando en los nuevos planes de los arquitectos de Viveros. Estamos planeando tener una casa de dos pisos, con una piscina del infinity, gazebo y terrazas abiertas. Nuestro lote esta ubicado mirando hacia el oeste y estamos diseñando la casa para disfrutar de las hermosas puestas del sol en la playa.

¿Es usted dueño de un yate, piloto, golfista?
Soy piloto y golfista. Estoy planeando tener mi aeroplano en la isla y jugar golf en Viveros en una de las mejores canchas de golf de Panamá.

¿Cuándo estará terminado su hogar?
Queremos tener nuestra casa lista en18 meses.

¿Cuándo usted visitara nuevamente la isla?
Dentro de algunos meses, iré con mi esposa a Panamá a disfrutar de las perlas, la ciudad de Panamá y del interior de este hermoso país.
